About
$3 billion USD has been raised via ICOs and token sales in 2017 thus far (https://www.coinschedule.com/stats.php). These funds are being used to develop the next generation of blockchain-based infrastructure and services development.
In this talk we will detail our experience, from a startup point of view, in preparing our own utility token sale for PolySwarm: a blockchain-based threat intelligence market.
We will discuss differences between security and a utility tokens, security risks and pitfalls inherent to token sales and illustrate how we believe token sales may, ultimately, build stronger communities around new blockchain-based protocols and services with less reliance on early stage equity-based financing.
