核融合工学の研究で博士学位取得後、文部科学省に入省。文部科学省では主に大学発ベンチャー支援や産学連携政策に携わる。2017年までマサチューセッツ工科大学のシステムデザイン・マネジメントプログラムにおいて、イノベーション・エコシステムの研究を行う。株式会社経営共創基盤(IGPI)では技術系ベンチャーの創出や支援に携わる。東京大学（博士）、マサチューセッツ工科大学（修士）

At Industrial Growth Platform, Masaru supports technology oriented start-ups. Prior to IGPI, he was in charge of innovation and entrepreneurship policies at Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, Japan. He planned and managed governmental programs to support university spin out start-ups and entrepreneurship education, to foster an innovation ecosystem in Japan. Masaru received his Ph.D. in engineering from the University of Tokyo for Nuclear Fusion research and an M.S. in engineering and management from MIT.
